KINGSTON, N.Y. – Company-founder and CEO David Warren created Armor Dynamics with a distinct goal: combining innovation with advanced materials and unique configurations to produce the strongest and lightest solutions to every threat conceivable for U.S. soldiers. A former Marine, Warren has spent the last seven years researching and developing advanced vehicle armor solutions for the U.S. Government.
Translating these technologies into practical protection for our domestic law enforcement agencies is the next logical step to providing our service men and women with the most advanced solutions available.
“Armor Dynamics is committed to providing police with the highest quality vehicle protection, just as we’ve done for the military,†said Warren. “We want to make available to the law enforcement community the same level of technology and armor expertise that we’ve brought to soldiers fighting abroad.â€
In February of 2011, in its first law enforcement pilot program, the company up-armored two Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department vehicles, a Dodge Charger and a Chevy Impala.
For Sullivan County, Armor Dynamics provided National Institute of Justice level III-plus protection, which is capable of stopping handgun, shotgun and rifle rounds. This level of protection was important to Sullivan County Sheriff Mike Schiff, given that his officers patrol rural areas where rifle fire is prevalent.
On Feb. 3, 2006, Sullivan County Deputy Cyrus Barnes pulled into a driveway in rural Sullivan County where a man with a high-powered rifle assaulted him. The individual fired a shot at Barnes that went through the door of the patrol car, shattering the seat adjustment controls underneath him.
“We expect this pilot program to provide our deputies with the highest available ballistic protection,†said Sheriff Schiff.
Under the terms of the 90-day pilot program, Armor Dynamics provided state-of-the art ballistic panels that are lightweight, customizable, and can be retrofitted to any police vehicle. As part of the pilot program, the vehicles will also be outfitted with a proprietary Ballistic Visor that provides front and side window protection.
Formed in 2004 and located in Kingston, NY, Armor Dynamics Inc. is committed to designing and developing innovative armor solutions that are stronger, lighter, and less costly than any other armor systems.
